2001 Year of the Snake RCM Chinese Lunar Coin

This 2001 $15 sterling silver coin was part of the Royal Canadian Mint's first Chinese lunar-themed coin series and celebrates the Year of the Snake. The coin weighs 34 grams and contains just over one ounce net of fine silver. The design features a selectively plated snake design in the centre, with all 12 lunar zodiac symbols around the outside. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, and the coin comes presented in the red velvet case of issue.
