14K Yellow Gold Double-Sided Amethyst and Cultured Pearl Enhancer Pendant

This striking 14K yellow gold double-sided amethyst enhancer pendant is a beautifully crafted vintage piece that blends rich colour with intricate goldwork. Designed to be admired from either side, the pendant is centrally set on both the front and back with a vibrant 3.35 carat oval amethyst, each gemstone secured within a raised bezel setting that highlights the stone’s vivid purple hue. Surrounding each amethyst is an elegant scalloped border with floral inspiration, framed with fine rope textured trim. 

The scalloped sections feature a recessed satin finished background, which contrasts beautifully with the polished gold details and adds depth to the design. Nestled between each swag-like scallop sits a small high polished gold bead. Separating the two mirrored halves of the pendant is a graceful border of fourteen round cultured pearls, encircling the centre and creating a luminous halo between the front and back settings. The pearls add softness and classic elegance while emphasizing the pendant’s luxurious, multi-layered construction. At the top, a high polished enhancer bale allows the pendant to open and clip onto a variety of chains, strands of pearls, or bead necklaces, offering exceptional versatility. The piece comes complete with a 14K yellow gold adjustable 16–18" curb link chain, finished with a secure lobster clasp.

Based on its double-sided construction, rope-trim detailing, cultured pearl accents, and enhancer style bale, this pendant was most likely created in the late 1980s to early 1990s. During this period, jewellers frequently produced reversible pendants and enhancer clips designed to be worn on both gold chains and pearl strands. The combination of textured gold finishes, rope borders, scalloped motifs, and bold colored gemstones like amethyst was particularly popular in fine jewellery of that era.
