This item includes 40 scarce, near-perfect "select gem uncirculated" 2014 five-cent coins. The 40 coins come presented in an acrylic tube with a custom label. The current Charlton Catalogue of Canadian Coins lists the value of 2014 five-cent coins in gem uncirculated MS-65 condition at $25 per coin, or $800 for 40 coins.

While uncirculated coins from this date are not rare, near-perfect select gem uncirculated coins are seldom encountered and are highly sought-after by collectors. As coins are struck using high-speed equipment, they regularly acquire surface contact marks and imperfections from hitting against each other. This process includes conveyor belts, huge tote bins and automated counting and rolling machines.  After this process, only a small percentage of newly struck coins produced will survive in near-flawless condition which could be graded as "Mint State 65" or "Mint State 66." These scarce, near-perfect coins are the most desired examples for collectors, and they normally sell at significant premiums above average uncirculated coins with typical surface marks.
