Product Overview
In 2017 and 2018, the Royal Canadian Mint issued two new puzzle coin sets, both of which sold out in minutes and have since dramatically appreciated in value. With the same low mintage of just 800 and over 16 ounces of fine silver, this long-awaited 2020 issue expands the story of Canada's evolution. Guided by the four winds and a stunning compass rose, the 14-piece puzzle chronicles and connects nearly 1,000 years of exploration and adventure. Join Canada's great pathfinders as you immerse yourself in history and add this elusive low-mintage coin set to your own collection.

The $50 three-ounce silver centre coin design by Canadian artist Rebecca Yanovskaya features a selectively gold-plated compass rose and a personification of the four winds. The central compass rose is comprised of a selectively gold-plated sun and a more subtle crescent moon.  Inspired by mythology and the golden age of cartography, the elements are presented as benevolent spirits of nature watching over and guiding the adventurers.

Each of the 13 jigsaw-shaped $20 one-ounce fine silver outer puzzle pieces highlights a famous pathfinder in Canadian history who contributed to our understanding of the world and our place in it. Presented in sepia-toned images within a gold frame, each of these significant individuals has made an indelible contribution to our history and the fabric of what we call Canada today. The obverse of all 14 coins features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
