Product Overview
This collection includes 25 superb near-flawless silver proof-like sets issued by the Royal Canadian Mint from 55 to 61 years ago. The 25 sets are a mix of dates from 1961 to 1967, including coins with both the first young effigy and second mature effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Each set includes all six coin denominations issued (cent, nickel, dime, quarter, half-dollar and silver dollar). The dime, quarter, half-dollar and silver dollar in each set are made of .800 fine silver, for a total of 1.11 ounces (net) of fine silver in each set. In addition to their collector value, this 25-piece group contains over 27.5 ounces of pure silver. At least one of each date from 1961 to 1967 is included, with multiples of the dates from 1963 to 1966.

Many silver coins were melted down for their bullion value from the late 1960s to the early 1980s when silver approached $50 per ounce, so the number of sets available for collectors today is significantly reduced. These 25-coin sets include a total of 150 proof-like coins that have all survived in superb, near-perfect condition. These are the highest-quality coins specially issued for collectors in these years, and feature razor-sharp designs and mirror-finish surfaces.

Silver Dollar Designs
• 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1966: The design on the one-dollar coin is the same design as was on Canada's first dollar coin issued in 1935. It features an Indigenous person and a voyageur (a travelling agent for a fur company), paddling a canoe past a small island with two wind-swept trees, with vertical lines in the background representing the Northern Lights
• 1964: This year marks the 100th anniversary of the meetings in 1864 held at Charlottetown, PEI and at Quebec City—it was these meetings that resulted in the formation of Canada as a country in 1867. The design on the coin depicts emblems of four of the country's founding groups: the French fleur-de-lis, the Irish shamrock, the Scottish thistle and the English rose

Centennial Designs (1967)
All the coins from 1967 feature special centennial-issue wildlife designs by artist and sculptor Alex Colville.

Half-Dollar Designs (1961–1966)
These coins feature an intricate, modified coat-of-arms design introduced in 1959. This silver coin is significantly larger than the current 50-cent coins, and is extremely appealing to most collectors.

Quarter, Dime, Nickel and Penny Designs (1961–1966)
The reverse of these coins are the familiar designs still used today.

Effigy Portraits Featured
The 1961 to 1964 coins feature the original young portrait of Queen Elizabeth. Starting in 1965, a more mature effigy of the Queen replaced this portrait.
