Product Overview
This two-piece set features the heir to the throne Prince Charles (now King Charles III) together with his then-wife Lady Diana. The first coin is a large-format uncirculated British commemorative crown (or 25 pence) coin marking the 1981 marriage of the royal couple. The second is a sterling silver proof-quality medal issued by the Royal Canadian Mint to commemorate the 1983 royal visit of Charles and Diana.

During the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, the future king rarely appeared on official coins or medals, and these two unusual collector pieces add to the fascinating story of the monarchy. Charles and Diana were married in a fairytale wedding at St. Paul's Cathedral in London on July 29, 1981, with the event viewed by an estimated 750 million people. When they visited Canada in 1983, Diana, Princess of Wales, was already becoming "the people's princess," adding a new popularity to the monarchy. The fairytale did not last, with the royal couple separating in 1992 and divorcing in 1996. When Diana died in a car accident in 1997, the world mourned the loss.
