Estate Originals 14K Yellow Gold and Silver Cabochon Cut Chrysoberyl Cat's Eye and Diamond Ring

This most unique and intriguing gemstone casts an enchanting spell with its mysterious gemological phenomenon known as chatoyancy. When a gem contains a series of parallel inclusions, homogeneously distributed in its volume, light reflection from them can produce a moving luminous band resembling a cat's eye. This natural cabochon-cut cat's-eye chrysoberyl is imbued by Mother Nature with a stormy brownish-yellow colouration and elegantly presented within stylized 'V'-shaped 14K yellow gold prongs.

Thirty multi-prong diamonds surround the cat's eye in a recessed halo setting crafted in sterling silver. The stone is flanked by stylized shoulders adorned with swirl and foliate designs in silver, transitioning to a beautiful yellow gold shank. An ornate swirling pattern on the 14K yellow gold undergallery adds balance and stability to this high-quality Victorian antique jewel. Circa 1837–1901.
