14K Yellow Gold Beetle Motif Brooch, set with Diamonds

This unique and charming brooch is crafted in 14K yellow gold and showcases a beautifully detailed beetle motif, rich with symbolism and antique appeal. The beetle’s eyes are each set with a .06 carat round brilliant cut diamond, bezel-set for a secure and refined look. Adding to its elegance, each of the beetle’s delicate tentacles is tipped with a small diamond, creating subtle sparkle and drawing attention to the brooch's fine craftsmanship. 

The beetle’s ribbed body, originally enamelled, still shows traces of its past vivid colouration, though most of the enamelling has worn away over time, a sign of age and authenticity that adds to the brooch's vintage charm. Detailed with six legs, two pincers, and textured highlights throughout, the piece exhibits lifelike realism and artistic skill, capturing the beetle’s form in striking detail. Beetle and insect-themed jewellery became especially popular during the Victorian era (1837–1901) and saw revivals in the Art Nouveau period (circa 1890–1910).
