This 14kt yellow gold AMERICAN WALTHAM CO. pocket watch has a 40mm case diameter, a round shaped off-white coloured dial with 12 hour black Roman numerals and 60 minute red Arabic numerals. It has blue tinted metallic hands and a 60 second sub-dial at the 6 o'clock. The movement is A.W.W.CO. LADY WALTHAM #18082163 and the case number is 62905. Both the front and back covers, as well as, sides have fancy engraved scroll and leaf engraving with a house on the back and an area for initials on the front.
American Waltham was in operation between 1852 and 1957, over 40 million fine specimens of pocket watches, wrist watches, clocks and other precision instruments were produced by the Waltham factory. It was one of the most prolific American watch companies and by the early 1870s Waltham watches were winning prizes all over the world. They remain popular and highly collectable.
