18KT Yellow Gold Diamond-Set Red Enamel Hinged Back Hoop Earrings

These majestic earrings are crafted in yellow gold and each feature a domed, tapered front that is centered with a circle, outlined in gold, and set with nine round brilliant cut diamonds. The middle diamond is surrounded by eight slightly smaller prong-set diamonds. Fancy geometric patterning crowns the top and bottom of each earring and these fancy shapes are set with thirteen additional diamonds, per earring. All shapes are outlined with a gold border which makes them pop against the red enamel that covers all remaining areas on the front of each earring. The yellow gold hinged back completes the hoop.  

Enamel refers to a coating applied to the metal of a piece of jewellery. It is applied as a paste or powder and then heated to extremely high temperatures of more than 1500 degrees to fuse the metals with the powder, creating a colourful coating that would not be possible with metals alone.
