Product Overview

Very few coins from close to 60 years ago have survived still in original brilliant uncirculated rolls as they were issued through Canada's chartered banks, and these scarce rolls often include some of the best premium-quality examples of uncirculated coins from this era. This set includes an original roll of 50 one-cent coins and an original roll of 40 five-cent coins issued in 1965, just as the coins were issued newly shipped from the Royal Canadian Mint. While Canadian coins from this era are not especially rare, original rolls are seldom encountered and exceptional quality uncirculated coins are scarce and highly sought-after.

Collectability is also enhanced by the fact that 1965 represents the first issue ever to feature the new "tiara portrait" which presents Queen Elizabeth as a mature woman in contrast to the original "laureate portrait." These coin rolls are original from 1965 and have not been searched for exceptional quality examples or rare varieties. The coins have been transferred into clear acrylic tubes for the best possible long-term storage and preservation.
