20" Strand of Graduated Cultured Pearls with an 18KT White Gold Diamond Clasp

This mid-length 20" matinee strand of cultured pearls features sixty-one off-round pearls that graduate in size as they flow toward the front. Each of the pearls are individually knotted and presents a yellow body colour with pinkish and greenish overtones. A fancy filigree and granulated white gold vintage floral clasp with rose-cut diamonds is attached.

In many ancient societies pearls symbolized the moon and were imbued with magical properties. Ancient Chinese civilizations believed that wearing pearls protected a person from fire and dragons, and other cultures associated them with chastity and modesty.
