About Wonder Woman
Diana, a.k.a. Wonder Woman, is the daughter of Queen Hippolyta, and was the first child born in the 3,000-year history in which immortals have lived on the Island of Themyscira (Paradise Island), where she grew up with a myriad of sisters and mothers. She was given powers by the gods in order to fight evils in all forms, and was sent out to spread their message of strength and love. She was also given some tools in which to fight evil, including the Lasso of Truth, magic gauntlets and an invisible jet.
Diana's journey to the world started out in Boston, where she met Harvard professor Dr. Julia Kapatelis, and her daughter Vanessa Kapatelis who she stayed with to learn to speak English. She was attacked while she stayed with the professor and her daughter, and a fight ensued, spilling out into the street, where she was spotted and given the name Wonder Woman.
