This large and impressive $125 proof fine silver coin weighs half a kilogram, or just over 16 troy ounces, and is the final coin in a series which celebrates Canada's wildlife. Mintage is limited to just 600 pieces, adding significant scarcity and collectability to the attractive art and impressive silver weight. As a pure silver coin struck by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is GST/HST exempt.
The image by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc showcases a portrait Canada's second largest land based carnivore - the grizzly. The grizzly's large head is raised with mouth open in a roar. Its characteristic fur covered ears, sharp teeth, and small dark eyes are finely engraved, while in the background a river runs through a wilderness of bushy undergrowth dotted by evergreens.
