Product Overview

This $10 fine silver common loon is the first coin in a Canada 150 series. It is double-dated "1867–2017" and weighs just over a half-ounce of pure silver. The coin is based on an image by Canadian nature photographer Jim Cumming and features the common loon. The loon glides over the glassy surface of water, tilts upwards in the water stretching its wings.  The use of colour recreates the qualities of the original photographer, capturing the loon in fine detail. Its jet black head, unique black and white collar, and checkered plumage are captured in vibrant colour.
