One of the most prolific scorers in Blackhawks history, Denis Savard electrified fans with his speed and offensive flair, including the famous “Spin-o-rama” move. The instinctive playmaker is one of the NHL stars featured in this rectangular-shaped tribute to legendary Canadian leaders of an Original Six team.
The coin is dated 2019 with a $25 denomination and weighs one and a half ounce of pure silver. Adding to its collectability is a low mintage of just 5,000 coins. As a pure silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, this item is HST/GST exempt.
The rectangular reverse features an official licensed photograph from the Hockey Hall of Fame. Reproduced in full colour, the action shot of Denis Savard was taken during his tenure as captain of the Chicago Blackhawks (1988-89). The image of the player from Pointe-Gatineau, Quebec is set within an engraved frame along with the colour logo of the Chicago Blackhawks and the player’s name. The face value of “25 DOLLARS” is also engraved above the year “2019”. The obverse includes the engraved word “CANADA” and features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
