Product Overview
The reverse design is a 3D take on the iconic uniform and the thoroughbred's musculature as they perform one of the choreographed routines that have made the RCMP Musical Ride world famous. The RCMP Musical Ride is a world-famous troop of 32 uniformed riders that perform cavalry drills choreographed to music. Its origins can be traced back to the early days of the North West Mounted Police when members entertained themselves between drills by competing and performing feats. From May to October, the RCMP Musical Ride usually travels to more than 50 communities across Canada to perform and help raise funds for local charities and organizations.
The coin design features a raised terrain with a sandy texture, complete with scattered hoof prints. This serves as a pedestal for the horse and rider, all overlaid with 24-karat gold. This is set above a brilliant silver coin element featuring the words "Canada," "2020," "100 dollars" and "Royal Canadian Mounted Police" around the outer rim. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
The coin comes presented on a round wooden pedestal and protected by a domed cover that allows the coin to be proudly displayed as a work of art.
Exclusive Bonus: 1973 Cased Silver Dollar
This silver dollar marks the centennial of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. It recognizes the founding of the North West Mounted Police in 1873, which later became the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
