The highlight of this two-part set is the silver dollar edition proof set which continues the Royal Canadian Mint's annual series started in the early 1970s featuring spectacular double-struck proof versions of all Canada's circulation coins, plus a half-dollar coin and a pure silver commemorative dollar. The silver dollar marks the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe during the Second World War, featuring a Royal Canadian Navy design with a selectively coloured naval ensign from the era of 1945. Denominations include the five-cent, 10-cent, 25-cent and 50-cent coins, the loon-style dollar, a commemorative silver dollar and the two-dollar coin. The five-cent coin is also a special-edition V for Victory design. The V-E day story is enhanced by the addition of a 2019 V-E Day Keepsake collection, marking the beginning of the end of the Second World War.
About the Proof Dollar Design
On the 2020 special edition silver dollar coin, the reverse design by artist Maskull Lasserre is a V-E Day ("V") salute to the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). A coloured pre-1965 naval ensign provides a stirring backdrop for the engraved depiction of a member of the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRCNS) and two members of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) standing on the foredeck of a Tribal-class destroyer. The obverse features the effigy of King George VI by T. H. Paget and a Victory privy mark.

D-Day Commemorative Six-Piece Collector Set, 2019
This presentation includes a numismatic uncirculated example of all the denominations (five cents, 10 cents, 25 cents and one dollar), plus two different examples of the 2019 D-Day commemorative two-dollar coin. One of the two-dollar coins will be a classic strike while the second will be selectively coloured. The commemorative two-dollar coin design takes you aboard a landing craft where Canadian soldiers are peering over the ramp as they approach the coast of Normandy (France) on D-Day, with a mission to establish a beachhead at Juno Beach.
