2023 $2 Special Wrap Roll - The Art of Jean Paul Riopelle Classic Version, 25 Coins per roll

Canada's newest two-dollar commemorative coin celebrates the art of Canadian artist Jean Paul Riopelle (1923–2002). Through works that reveal a lifelong love of nature, and mosaics that reflect his belief in unconstrained creative expression, illustrious artist Jean Paul Riopelle used his art to push boundaries and command the attention of critics and art lovers worldwide. This classic engraved (non-coloured) coin design features two doves and other artistic elements from Riopelle's monumental fresco, Tribute to Rosa Luxemburg (L'Hommage à Rosa Luxemburg). This fresco was a memorial tribute to his 25-year companion Joan Mitchell. It is a monumental work comprised of 30 painted panels which unfold like a succession of animal paintings.

This special collector issue wrapped roll contains 25 brilliant uncirculated commemorative two-dollar coins, all featuring a classic engraved (non-coloured) design. The obverse of each coin includes the posthumous effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, together with the double-dates of her reign, 1952–2022.
