This selectively coloured 2026 $20 one ounce fine silver coin presents an up-close showcase of two Canada jays. The Canada jay is a year-round resident of the boreal forests that stretch from coast to coast and into the North—exactly why it earns its patriotic name. While other bird species pack their bags for warmer places, this grey-and-white songbird stays put, stashing snacks and turning winter into its own playground. The design by Canadian artist Tony Bianco features a pair of Canada jays—one rests on a white pine branch, while the other swoops in on the wing. Their grey-and-white plumage, along with the evergreen branches, stand out against the engraved winter landscape where a snow-covered path leads to a distant log cabin.
