2026 $20 Dancing Ammolite Fine Silver Coin

This exquisite 2026 $20 fine silver coin combines the rarity and beauty of ammolite—one of Canada's rarest and most spectacular gemstones—with the magic of motion which shows off its iridescent and dynamic colours. This third in the Royal Canadian Mint's series is themed as "Elements of Nature—Fire." This is the fundamental element that symbolizes energy, brings warmth, sparks creativity and ignites passion! Fire may blaze or glow, but its true magic lies in the way it flickers with life; that hypnotic rhythm—the way the flames sway—inspired the sculpted flame-lines that curve around the coin's ammolite centrepiece. Suspended in a delicate dance and quivering with every movement, the Canadian-mined gemstone shimmers with hints of red light, as if lit from within, mirrored by the gold accents that complete this tribute to fire in motion. The ammolite is mounted and housed in a 3D frame fashioned by Canadian owned and operated Beverly Hills Jewellers. The special jewellery mount allows the ammolite to move and flash its colour with the slightest movement of its coin base. The obverse features the effigy of King Charles III by Steven Rosatti.

Ammolite is an opal-like gemstone made of fossilized shells of ammonites dating back to over 70 million years ago. Its colours can range across the spectrum, and its patterns can also range from solid colors to intricate designs resembling flames, watercolour paintings or even stained glass.
