Product Overview

The 2026 commemorative two-dollar coin is only the second glow-in-the-dark Canadian circulation coin, and it celebrates Canada's tallest freestanding structure, the CN Tower, on the 50th anniversary of its official opening. Each coloured special wrap roll contains 25 of these glow-enhanced collectibles, and every one of them offers the same fun view of the Tower-dominated Toronto skyline—past, present, and, when viewed in the dark, aglow at night.

The inner core design features a view of the CN Tower overlooking Lake Ontario and dominating a contemporary downtown Toronto skyline, whose tall skyscrapers tower above an outline of the city's skyline as it appeared in 1976. When the photo-luminescent technology is activated on the colourized coin, the scene shows the CN Tower and skyline illuminated at night, reflecting Toronto's vibrant energy. Additional silhouettes on the outer ring represent five decades of growth and architectural evolution, with the skyline in 1976 appearing on the left and the 2026 cityscape on the right—a visual record of Toronto's transformation into a modern, world-class city. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
