The reverse design features a rich colour application over the engraved portraits of the five captains of various Star Trek television series. From left to right, there's Benjamin Sisko (portrayed by Avery Brooks) of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993–1999); Jonathan Archer (portrayed by Scott Bakula) of Star Trek: Enterprise (2001–2005); James T. Kirk (portrayed by William Shatner) from Star Trek: The Original Series (1966–1969); Jean-Luc Picard (portrayed by Sir Patrick Stewart) from Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1994); and Kathryn Janeway (portrayed by Kate Mulgrew) of Star Trek: Voyager (1995–2001). The portraits are positioned around an engraved Delta Shield insignia and against a space background; they gently overlap the outer band in which "Canada," "Star Trek" and the year "2017" are engraved. When viewed in the dark, glow-in-the-dark elements reveal a second image on the reverse; a head-on view of USS Enterprise in flight. Between the Enterprise's phaser beams lies an illuminated Delta Shield insignia, which became the identifying emblem of Starfleet; it bears the five-point star that is indicative of a command rank.

Star Trek USS Enterprise 25-Cent Coin and Stamp Set
The coin design features six different views of the USS Enterprise in vibrant colour: overhead, underside, bow, aft, starboard and portside. The dark background of this coin gives the viewer a sense of outer space, while the rich blue recreates a nebula. The cover stamp design features a portrait of Captain James T. Kirk in the gold uniform of Starfleet's command division. The background has the USS Enterprise in orbit over the red planet.
Inside the custom packaging are two coil stamps that feature classic nemeses from the television serie: the USS Enterprise and a D7-class battle cruiser from the Klingon Imperial Fleet. The first stamp depicts the Enterprise, on its five-year mission of exploration and discovery, is positioned to allow the viewer a glimpse of the twin warp nacelles, and the saucer-shaped hull proudly displays the registration number NCC-1701. The second stamp depicts the D7-class battle cruiser, with its bulbous command pod jutting out from the spread wing hull, along with the ship's iconic long neck, giving it an ominous and aggressive appearance.
