Product Overview

Own an amazing collection of American history with this high-quality collection of 30 different silver dollars dating back to before Thomas Edison's first lightbulb and just 13 years after the end of the Civil War. This comprehensive collection includes 30 of the 36 different dates of issue, starting with all 15 of the first dates of issue from 1878 to 1892.  Each coin has a weight of 27.3 grams of .900 fine silver, for a total fine silver content of 23.7 troy ounces. The coins range from fine to about uncirculated condition, and come displayed in a premium-quality mahogany finish presentation case.

The first 23 coins in the collection are referred to as Morgan Dollars, issued from 1878 to 1904, and then again in 1921. (No silver dollars were issued from 1905 to 1920.) These coins, designed by George T. Morgan, feature a Liberty head obverse design, while the reverse depicts an eagle with spread wings. All of the Morgan dollars are more than 100 years old.

The remaining seven coins in the collection are Peace-type silver dollars. This design was intended to usher in an era of peace following the end of World War One. The obverse design shows a Liberty figure with a radiant headband, similar to the Statue of Liberty, while the reverse features a bald eagle at rest clutching an olive branch, with the legend "Peace." The 1935 Peace dollar was the last silver dollar to be issued for circulation in the United States.
