Product Overview

This coloured large-format 25-cent collector coin celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) and features a stylized image of vessels from the Canadian Coast Guard at work in and on Canadian waters. The engraved text "CCG-GCC" and "1962–2012" appears on the outside ring. 

The CCG was created in 1962 to support mariners in Canadian waters, conduct search and rescue services, maintain Canada's sovereignty in the Arctic and in coastal waters, respond to technical advances in its domain, and address issues associated with growing vessel traffic. It is responsible for 244,000 kilometres of coastline.
