Of all denominations ever struck from the cent to the dollar, there have only ever been 19 coins with mintages below 100,000. This set includes five of these extremely low-mintage coins (1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, and 1948). It also includes the 1956 silver dollar which has the lowest mintage of any Queen Elizabeth coin ever struck for circulation (209,092), and two of the five lowest-mintage coins ever in the history of Canada (1945 and 1948)—in fact, the 1948 silver dollar has the lowest mintage of any Canadian coin (from the cent to the dollar) ever struck since Confederation.
