14K Yellow Gold and Rhodium Enhanced Mabé Pearl Ring with Diamonds, 0.50 ctw

This classic ring is centred with a 13.4-mm round mabé pearl displaying a light cream body colour with greenish and pinkish overtones. It is bezel-set in 14K yellow gold and is surrounded by alternating columns: a double-ribbed presentation of high-polished yellow gold followed by a double-row of pave-set diamonds, cleanly finished with rhodium to enhance the diamonds. The columns alternate with the shortest at the north and south positions and the longest at the west and east sides allowing the ring to rest flush to the finger while showing stones finger to finger and knuckle to knuckle. 

Mabé pearls, also known as blister pearls, are half-pearls that are cultivated on the inside of a mollusk's shell. A small nucleus, usually made out of mother of pearl, is attached to the shell of the mollusk and left to accumulate nacre over a period that usually runs about two or three years.
