Product Overview

This spectacular antique solitaire ring is crafted in 14 karat gold and showcases the refined artistry of early 20th century design. At its centre rests a 0.10-carat Old European-cut diamond, beautifully double-prong-set within a white-gold octagonal box setting. The geometric frame is further accentuated by a secondary octagonal border, its delicate negative space creating a striking play of light and shadow that draws the eye to the brilliant centre stone.

The yellow gold band and undergallery are richly ornamented with an intricate floral and foliate motif, pierced and detailed with fine milgrain edging and engraved flourishes, hallmarks of the artistry and romanticism characteristic of the Edwardian to early Art Deco era (circa 1910–1925). The Old European cut diamond, a precursor to the modern brilliant cut, was hand-cut with a small table, high crown, deep pavilion, and open culet, resulting in a warm, candlelit sparkle that reflects the craftsmanship of its time. Each facet was shaped by eye, giving every stone a unique character and charm.
