This simple yet elegant engagement ring presents a half-carat pear-shaped diamond, set into a five-prong basket of 14K white gold. The diamond presents excellent "F" colour, and a white gold and slightly tapered band draws the eye to the diamond. The girdle of the diamond is laser-inscribed with "IOD 66559389" and is registered with De Beers.
Diamond laser inscription is done using a very small and precise laser beam to lightly etch numbers, letters and even graphics on the girdle of the diamond. The laser inscription can be read using a jeweller's loupe, but is not visible to the naked eye and does not impact the diamond's quality or light performance. These symbols serve as a unique marker that can be used to identify a specific stone if necessary; they enable you to distinguish your diamond from other stones.
