18K Yellow Gold Citrine and Diamond Ring

This designer's dream is crafted in 18K yellow gold and boasts a 10.26 carat round shaped citrine , semi-bezel set in the centre. Shouldering the round citrine is a 0.93 carat triangular cut citrine, angled on each side. The seamless flow between the round and triangular cut citrines is a result of the lack of prongs. The flat edge of the triangles butt up against the edge of the round, and a high polished bezel frames all three. A second bezel frames the forty round brilliant cut diamonds that are bead set around the outside. The high polished band is a masterpiece architecturally with its bold angles, soft curves and knife edge shank. 

Shining with a golden glow, people have long treasured citrine as a gift from the sun. Citrine, a variety of quartz, is named after the French citron, or lemon. Its colour ranges from a juicy lemon yellow to a dark rich honey gold. Citrine was particularly popular in the retro jewelry of the 1940s. Its sunny colour and dramatic proportions suited the streamlined style and bold gold of the era.
