18K Yellow Gold Etruscan Revival Turquoise Fob Charm

This exceptional 18K yellow gold vintage Etruscan Revival fob charm is a richly detailed jewel that celebrates old world craftsmanship and historic design. Sculpted in an elegant egg-shaped ovoid form, the charm is fully three-dimensional and lavishly adorned with intricate goldwork. At its base rests a luminous round cabochon turquoise, its smooth dome providing a vivid pop of colour and a striking contrast to the warm gold. 

The body of the charm is formed as a satin-finished orb, pierced near the bottom with a continuous band of elongated triangular cutouts that encircle the piece. Moving upward, the central section features larger diamond shaped piercings, rhythmically alternating with raised floral motifs, adding depth, texture, and visual movement. The upper portion mirrors the lower piercing pattern, creating a harmonious symmetry, and is crowned with twisted circular motifs that enhance the sculptural silhouette. A ribbed gold cap finishes the top of the charm, from which a substantial bale extends, making it ideal for wear on a chain or as a collector’s piece.

Fob charms like this were especially popular during the mid-to-late 19th century, at the height of the Victorian era and the Etruscan Revival movement. Inspired by ancient Etruscan goldsmithing, these charms showcased elaborate granulation, piercing, and classical ornamentation.
