This bold ring is custom-crafted in 14K yellow and rose gold. Prong-set from behind and bezel-set at the front is an almost pure gold (.986) Austrian 1915 ducat gold coin. The reverse side faces up and features the Arms of Austria superimposed upon a crowned double-headed imperial eagle. One side of the eagle is holding a sword and the other side is holding an orb and cross. The lettering reads: Lod. Ill. Rex. A.A. 1915 Hvngar Bohem Gal, which translates to, "King of Hungary, Bohemia, Galicia and Lodomeria, Illyria, Archduke of Austria." The obverse, which is facing down, is lettered Franc Ios I D G Avstriae Imperator, which translates to "Franz Joseph I, by the grace of God, Austrian Emperor," and features the laureate head of Franz Joseph, facing right, with thick whiskers. The 1915 Austria gold ducat was originally a "trade coin" issued for transactions between countries and was known for its exquisite design and high gold content. The custom-crafted 14K gold bezel and undergallery is beautifully detailed with an alternating yellow and rose gold open scroll border.
