This beautiful ring is custom crafted in 14KT yellow gold. Prong-set from behind and bezel-set at the front is an almost pure gold (.986) Austrian 1915 Ducat gold coin. The reverse side faces up and features the Arms of Austria superimposed upon a crowned double-headed Imperial eagle. The lettering reads: HVNGAR BOHEM GAL LOD ILL REX A 1915 which translates to "King of Hungary, Bohemia, Galicia and Lodomeria, Illyria, Archduke of Austria". The obverse, which is facing down is lettered FRANC IOS I D G AUSTRIAE IMPERATOR translating to "Franz Joseph I, by the grace of God, Austrian Emperor" and features the Laureate head of Franz Joseph, facing right, with thick whiskers. The 1915 Austria Gold ducat was originally a "trade coin" issued for transactions between countries and were known for their exquisite design and high gold content. The custom and hand crafted 14KT yellow gold ring is elaborately detailed with an open scroll and bead drop border and open scroll base that curves to accommodate the finger.
