Product Overview

This lady's stainless steel and 18K yellow gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust wristwatch is Swiss-made and features a 26 mm champagne-coloured Rolex Jubilee patterned anniversary dial with 10 diamond hour markers and matching gold tone hands and stick markers. There is a magnified date window at the three o'clock mark. An aftermarket fixed 36 diamond bezel, total weight 0.67 carats, frames the dial, and a stainless steel and 18K yellow gold Rolesor jubilee bracelet with a deployment clasp is attached. The watch has hour, minute and second hands and runs on an automatic movement, is scratch-resistant and has a sapphire crystal and screw-down crown. The jubilee bracelet is a supple and comfortable five-piece link metal bracelet and was designed and made especially for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 2000.

Rolex released the Rolex Datejust watch in 1945 to celebrate the company’s 40th-anniversary jubilee celebration. Along with the innovative date window on the dial, the watch also came with a brand-new style of Rolex bracelet featuring a refined five-piece semi-circular link design, a dressier counterpart to the Rolex Oyster bracelet. Fast-forward to 1985, and Rolex took a similar route by releasing the Jubilee dial to celebrate the Datejust collection’s 40th anniversary. The Rolex Jubilee dial, also known as the anniversary dial, features a repetitive "Rolex" pattern engraved on its entire surface; this is similar to the type of all-over pattern that can be seen on something like a monogrammed Louis Vuitton bag. This was the 1980s—the decade of decadence and flaunting one’s wealth, and logo-mania was all the rage across the luxury goods industry. The Datejust 69173, with its two-tone Rolesor blend of stainless steel and 18K gold, brought a new level of luxury and elegance to the Datejust line. The model enjoyed a robust production run before eventually being replaced by updated versions, but it continues to hold a special place in the hearts of Rolex aficionados worldwide.

Founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf, Rolex has grown to become the world’s leading luxury watch brand. The Rolex name and the famed crown logo are synonymous with prestige, quality and craftsmanship. The brand patented the first waterproof watch case in 1926, aptly named the Oyster. Using a proprietary construction comprising of a screw-down caseback, screw-down winding crown, and sealed crystal clamped down by a bezel, the Oyster case remains as the foundation for almost all modern Rolex watches. Rolex watches with Oyster cases have a minimum water resistance rating of 100 metres and can reach up to 3,900 metres for specialized diving watch models. In 1945, Rolex was the first to introduce a chronometer wristwatch with a date window on the dial. The Datejust and the Day-Date continue to be Rolex’s flagship dress watch models. In the 1980s, Rolex became the first watch brand to use high-grade 904L stainless steel for its watch cases. Since 2018, all steel Rolex watches are fashioned from Rolex’s own 904L alloy, known as Oystersteel. Today, Rolex manufactures all of its mechanical movements in-house, using both cutting-edge machinery and traditional handmade techniques. Rolex watches are designed to last for many decades and are worn as timepieces and jewellery, while vintage models are also widely sought-after by collectors. The first Rolex waterproof watch was unveiled in 1926 and was called the Oyster because it was clamped shut like an oyster shell and could survive underwater.
