Product Overview
Instantly build a classic collection of historic Canadian coins with this comprehensive dime collection dating from 1899 through to 2023. The set includes a total of 125 coins, with 64 struck in silver. The collection includes about 95 percent of all dates to form a complete set, and features every date of issue from 1909 to 2023. The coins range from good circulated condition to brilliant uncirculated, with all coins dated from the late 1950s to 2023 in brilliant uncirculated condition, and come presented in high-quality display cases. Major varieties are included for some issues including 1947 (plain and maple leaf), 1953 (shoulder fold and no shoulder fold issues), and 1968 silver and nickel issues.
• Includes 64 silver coins: three Victoria, seven Edward VII, 20 George V, 17 George VI, and 17 silver Elizabeth
• Note: no 10-cent coins were issued from 1922–1927
While current modern coins often last in circulation as long as 20 years, the older silver coins of Canada had an average lifespan of only about five years and were regularly withdrawn and recycled as they wore out. The combination of much lower mintages and very low survival rates has created many scarcities and good quality collectibles in this series.
