Prestige Proof Sets Complete Collection 1991–1996 (Six Sets)

This collection includes all six prestige proof sets produced by the Royal Canadian Mint from 1991 to 1996. Not only are these proof sets the highest-quality coins issued from the mint each year, but the actual sets included in this product have been carefully selected to ensure they are still in near-perfect condition. This is an extremely important consideration for collectors, as many of the older sets in this annual series are found damaged from handling or from improper storage over the years. All the coins are double-struck with a frosted cameo contrast effect.

The coins from each year are presented in the original genuine black leather case of issue. The spine of each set is embossed with the year of issue, creating an attractive shelf display. The sets include both a loon dollar and a special commemorative dollar coin struck in silver, presented in a two-sided book-format display case. The commemorative silver dollars in each set present a glimpse of Canadian history, including important people, places and events that encapsulate our great country. The 1996 set has five coins that are struck in sterling silver (all of the coins other than the cent and loon dollar).

• 1991 (131,888): Frontenac steamship; 175th anniversary of first steamship to sail the Great Lakes (1816); the quarter is the lowest mintage since 1934
• 1992 (147,061): Kingston to York stagecoach; first stagecoach service between (1817)
• 1993 (143,065): 100th anniversary of the Stanley Cup (1893–1993)
• 1994 (104,485): RCMP dog team patrol; 25th anniversary of the last northern dog team patrol (1969)
• 1995 (101,560): 325th anniversary of the founding of the Hudson's Bay Company (1670)
• 1996 (112,835): 200th anniversary of John McIntosh in Canada
