Proof $5 Fine Silver Coin 2014 Peregrine Falcon

This one-ounce fine-silver $5 coin features a proof-quality image of the peregrine falcon. Revered since the Middle Ages, the peregrine falcon is one of the most striking, beautiful and graceful aerial predators in the world. Known for its breathtaking displays of flight agility, the bird can reach speeds over 300 kilometres per hour while stooping, making it the fastest animal in the world. The reverse design by Canadian artist Emily Damstra depicts a peregrine falcon in a mid-air attack position. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
