The poppy has been sculpted to capture all the intricate elements of the symbolic flower, from the outward-curving petals to the innermost whorl, while the antique finish accentuates every crinkle, curl and fold.

Anniversary of VE-Day Proof Set, 2019
This complete 2019 coin set includes double-struck frosted cameo proof quality coins for all of Canada's coin denominations from the nickel to the two-dollar coin, including the half-dollar. The .9999 fine silver dollar features a V-E Day ("V") salute to the Royal Canadian Navy with a full-colour pre-1965 naval ensign set behind naval officers standing on the foredeck of a Tribal-class destroyer. The obverse features the effigy of King George VI.

A soldier's first step onto Juno Beach is preserved for all time in this poignant design by Glen Loates. The reverse features a military boot print in the sand, its deep indentation and crisp lines conveying the weight of the soldier's resolve as he moves towards his objective. Below the boot print, a wave laps at the shore, its contours echoing the Normandy coastline. The word "Juno" fills the space between the boot print and the water, and sits atop the anniversary years "1944–2019" that are linked by a maple leaf insignia from the Second World War.
