Uncirculated Bundle of 100 Notes $1, 1973

New banknotes have normally been bundled for distribution by Canada’s chartered banks in banded bundles of 100 notes. Canada’s last $1 note issue was introduced in 1973 and discontinued in 1989.  During this 16-year period, three different major varieties of the dollar bill were released. The first had a two digit prefix before the serial number and bore the signatures of R. W. Lawson and G. K. Bouey as the deputy governor and governor of the Bank of Canada.  The second issue bore the same signatures, but featured a three digit prefix. The final notes, issued before they were discontinued in 1989, featured a three digit prefix and the signatures of J. W. Crow and G. K. Bouey as the deputy governor and governor of the Bank of Canada. The scarcest of the notes have 2 digit serial numbers and were the original notes introduced in 1973. This bundle includes notes from all three issues. This collection also includes a $1 bank note from each of the following series; 1937, 1954 modified issue, and both official from 1967 (104 notes total).
