To mark the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Royal Canadian Mint turned Alex Colville's centennial celebration of Canada into a six-part centennial celebration of the artist. This one-tenth-ounce pure gold one-cent coin features the artist's design for the 1967 centennial one-cent circulation coin. The rock dove is associated with spiritual values and peace and is featured here in 99.99% pure gold. Mintage is limited to just 1,200 coins, including both subscriptions and single coins. Also included is a bonus original 1967 one-cent coin.
The reverse re-creates Canada's 1967 centennial one-cent coin design by artist Alex Colville and features a front profile view of a rock dove in flight. The reverse also features the engraved face value "1 cent," the word "Canada" and the date "2020." The obverse features the second effigy (1965–1989) of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin.
