This 22K gold coin comes with an image of a stylized butterfly to celebrate Canada's Indigenous cultures and traditions. It focuses on the richness of Mi'kmaq traditions and the country's artistic heritage. The traditional Mi'kmaq double curve is symbolic of the balance between the physical and spiritual worlds. The reverse design is created by Mi'kmaq artist Alan Syliboy and it depicts the petroglyphs or rock drawings of Kejimkujik Park in Nova Scotia. The obverse features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Dora de Pédery-Hunt.
