Product Overview

This pendant is custom-crafted in beautiful yellow gold. Prong-set, from behind, is an almost pure gold (.986) Austrian 1915 4 Ducat gold coin. The reverse side faces up and features the Arms of Austria superimposed upon a crowned double-headed Imperial eagle. The lettering reads HVNGAR.BOHEM.GAL LOD.ILL.REX. A.A. 1915 which translates to "King of Hungary, Bohemia, Galicia and Lodomeria, Illyria, Archduke of Austria."

The obverse, which is facing down is lettered FRANC.IOS.I.D.G AUSTRIAE IMPERATOR translates to "Franz Joseph I, by the grace of God, Austrian Emperor" and features the Laureate head of Franz Joseph, facing right, with thick whiskers. The 1915 Austria Gold ducat was originally a “trade coin” issued for transactions between countries and was known for its exquisite design and high gold content.
