The new S9 chip also enables a number of other innovations, including a new gesture: double tap. Gestures make Apple Watch even easier to use anytime, especially when your hands are full. In this instance, just double-tap your index finger and thumb together, and you can answer a call, open a notification, play and pause music, and more. The operating system has also been updated, as watchOS 10 brings more to your screen than ever before—virtually every app has been totally redesigned to give you more information at a glance. From any watch face, simply turn the digital crown to reveal the Smart Stack with widgets for relevant and timely information.

The watch also has your well-being in mind. For example, it has a blood oxygen sensor and app which allows you to take on-demand readings of your blood oxygen as well as background readings, day and night, as well as an ECG app which is capable of generating an ECG similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram. It’s a momentous achievement for a wearable device that can provide critical data for doctors and peace of mind for you. Plus the Sleep app can help you establish a regular bedtime routine and keep track of your sleep trends night after night. It can also automatically detect if you're in a severe car crash through its Crash Detection feature, and it will then connect you with emergency services, provide dispatchers with your location and notify your emergency contacts. Crash Detection uses the combined power of an improved three-axis gyroscope with high dynamic range and a high G-force accelerometer, microphone, barometer, GPS and an advanced sensor-fusion algorithm trained on over 1 million hours of real-world crash data.
This is also Apple's first carbon-neutral product. Through ongoing innovations in materials, clean energy and low-carbon shipping, Apple Watch is now available in case and band combinations that are carbon-neutral.
